F-150 Price Hike in 2015

The F-Series truck has long ranked as America’s best-selling vehicle, and it’s Ford Motor Company’s most profitable nameplate. Maybe that’s why Ford is raising prices on the F-150 pickup by as much as $3,615 in 2015. That and Ford is adding features, such as two information screens, a telescoping steering wheel, and two additional speakers in all models. Overall, prices are going up 1-8%, depending on the base trim line. Four-wheel drive models will be priced higher.

When the new F-150 trucks arrive in dealerships this fall, the most expensive F-150 will be the Platinum model, which has a starting price of $52,155. Compared to 2014, that’s an increase of $3,055. At the other end of the spectrum, the least expensive model will be the XL, starting at $26,220. All of the 2015 F-150 trucks are aluminum-bodied, not steel-bodied like some of the 2014 base models.

Raptor & Five Other F-150 Models Discontinued

Ford is also cutting six models from the 2015 line, including the Tremor, Raptor, STX, FX2, FX4, and Limited. However, the popular F-150 Raptor is expected to return in 2016 or 2017.

Engine Upgrade Cost Decreases

Ford has also released pricing for the F-150’s new engine lineup. To upgrade from the least powerful engine–a 3.5-liter nonturbo V-6–to the most powerful engine–the twin-turbo EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6–will cost $1,995. That’s actually a $100 decrease from 2014.
